Tom Matthesen, Chief Executive Officer
As CEO of Presidential Financial, Tom Matthesen provides leadership and strategic direction for the company. Matthesen was selected to lead Presidential in 2008 based on his extensive knowledge of the commercial finance industry and his dynamic leadership skills. With a passion for assisting the small and mid-size growth company, he is actively engaged in forming strategic partnerships that will drive profitability and market value growth for clients. His turnaround management experience provides him a unique vantage point for Presidential clients. Matthesen encourages a corporate philosophy of understanding a client’s business to help them reach their financial goals.

With over two decades of experience in the commercial finance industry Mr. Matthesen is a respected member of the financial community and has been often quoted in regional and national publications on financing and other management issues. He was CEO of Wall Financial, an asset-based commercial finance company he founded in 2004. He was previously Senior Vice President with GE Capital and Regional President of Heller Financial, and he had a 12-year tenure with Sun Trust Bank in Atlanta.

He has authored several trade journal articles and wrote a thesis published by the American Bankers Association. He is also a frequent speaker on subjects such as “Turnaround Management”, “The Trusted Advisor Role of your Finance Partner”, “Healthcare Finance” and “Entrepreneurship”. Mr. Matthesen holds a BS in Business/Finance from the University of Colorado and an MBA from Georgia State University. He is also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Finance and Banking (University of Delaware) where he graduated with the top honor of “Distinction”. Mr. Matthesen has also received his Six Sigma Quality and Executive Leadership certification from GE. Mr. Matthesen is active in the community including his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fellowship Christian Schools and in a number of ministries as a Deacon of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church.
